Arts programs
So, first time here. Thought I'd start it off with a blog.
Well, my original idea when I first stumbled upon this site was to help start more arts programs in schools without them, or grade D/F schools.
The school district I am in, is going through major budget cuts. Which means cutting out extracurriculars such as art. Coming from an art high school, I wish younger kids will be able to have an exposure to the arts.
My twin and I, she is in a theatre school, would want to start an after school arts/drama program for underprivileged or inner-city kids. We are a little concerned as how they would percieve us, as we are two upper-middle class white girls. (Not trying to be racist, or create racial tension. Just the way it is around my area). Also, is it a good idea in the first place?
This site intrigues me, so I think I'm going to go look around.
