Welcome to the Beginning of an End!!

It is the beginning of an end in Chillicothe, Ohio. Chillicothe Gay-Straight Alliance, an organization based at Chillicothe High School as an unofficial club, has set out to end Homophobia and Intolerance in their community. The organization is powered by students who know what intolerance is doing to the community; students who can feel the pressure building; students who know that a change is in the process and who want to be a part of this change.

Take a Stand

Gay is not a Synonym,
Fag is not a name,
Queer is not a label,
And this is not a game.

People do get hurt,
They die every day,
And it only gets worse,
When you turn away.

School Climate Survey, October 2008

This report will contain key information from Chillicothe GSA's School Climate Survey once all the data has been analyzed.

The Silence of Hatred
***It's the silence we speak that allows hatred to dominate our lives***

Hatred, a sound of silence
That fills the worlds ears,
Damning those who speak out
Against the wide spread fears.

It's gays, it's blacks, and Arabs too,
That are blamed for life today,
And people think that killing them
Will make it go away.

But truth be told, it's none of them,
For they are not at fault,
Fear has caused this life today,
This is the result.

So further more we push away
Our neighbors and their lives,
Hoping that we'll save ourselves,
Regardless of who dies.

What will you do to break the silence?

CHS students stand up against bullying, stereotypes against homosexuals, everyone

The black clothing and silence of more than 50 students at Chillicothe High School may have seemed as if students were in mourning. In a way, they were, but the aim of their silence had much more behind it than sorrow.

Students of the recently formed CHS Gay-Straight Alliance wanted to reach out to their peers and the community by participating in the National Day of Silence.
