my goal
i'm michelle from portland oregon.
I heard about youth ventures from a magazine and thought it would be a great thing to do. My cause is MS or multiple sclerosis.MS is an autoimmune disease that attacks the nervous system. The name multiple sclerosis means many scars for the scars it leaves in white spinal cord and brain tissue (white tissue connects gray tissue which controls movement).MS takes several forms like relapsing forms (where it discreetly attacks)or progressive forms,bothof which usually leave the person disabled.MS does not have a cure,but it can be slowed down with medications.with MS women are affected almost twice as much as men.there are currently about 350,000 people with MS in the U.S.About 200 new cases are reported each week.
my grandmother is one of those cases. She is in a wheelchair and it is hard for her to do much of anything. she also has diabetes so she has to watch her blood sugar too. there are 350,00 people out there like her and i want too help them all. My grandma inspired me to do this, and help out others like her.I will help them by raising money for equipment and doctor's bills to just giving support to the families.I don't know where i'll get the money but i'll try. Somebody has got to, right?
