Bridging Communities

Today was the big event for Bridging Communities! It was a lot of fun. My parents drove me to Crissy Field so I could drop all the models and materials off with Emelie and Mina who were already there. Then I had to leave for Chinese school and returned at 12pm. I was so grateful that the sun came through for us today. It was raining just yesterday but the day was clear today. When I came back at 12, Carmen, Emelie, Dennis, and Mina were there. Cheryl and Vincent eventually came as well. At our booth, we had two posterboards out, one about the process of recycling and one about global warming. On the table, we also had a hydrogen power car model, a windmill, and examples of crude oil products. We were positioned right next to Baycat, technology education for youths. The event was slowly fading away as the hour went by. By about 2pm, people were packing up and leaving already.

I felt that this was a great first event for the founders of MRC. I can see how difficult and how much planning it takes to run a successful event. Hopefully as founders, we would pick things up and start charging forward but one step at a time. We must work to bring what we learned today and implement a firm recycling system into Mission High School first!
