Presidential News Conference
During the summer of 2009, there was a Presidential News Conference. Here are a few key notes that I was able to gather up:
1) If you are content with the health insurance you have, you can stay with that plan.
2) The new health reform will hopefully be in action before this year ends.
3) The new health reform not only affects the financial aspects of health care but the "delivery" as well (meaning better conditions at hospitals, better treatment from doctors & nurses, etc.).
4) The new health reform will significantly improve for senior citizens.
5) 97%-98% of Americans will be covered under the new health reform.
6) 2/3 of the health reform is already taken care of.
7) One idea that President Obama has come up with to take care of the remaining amount needed to put the new health care reform in action is to place a surcharge on families that make over 1 million dollars.
If you guys have any comments or concerns about the new health reform, feel free to leave a comment.
Since this new health reform does not model single-payer health care, private insurance will still be around. If you guys have any questions about health insurance, feel free to e-mail us at educare.react08@yahoo.com.
