Hi,
My name is Claire. I'm thirteen years old and I go to The Bush School, in Seattle Washington. I'm part of the organization AMP4AFRICA, a student lead group that focuses on protecting people in Africa from malaria, and spreading awareness about this issue to get other kids, teens, and adults involved with fighting this crisis. Our group started when one of my classmates and team members, came to a bunch of kids at school with a Sports Illustrated article about malaria, that was in 6th grade. Since then we have been mainly focusing in on fundraising, so we have the funding to reach some of our other goals. We have had very successful bake sales at which we raised over 1,000 dollars. We are about to hold a movie night, and start selling our t-shirts.
In our group a lot of roles are shared and everyone helps with whatever needs to be done, but when we are volunteering for jobs I usually help with more artistic things. I like to do some of the advertising, and also just handling the art. The advertising consists of making flyers, posters, getting our art to graphic designers, etc. One of the things that our group believes in is incorporating our strengths into our projects. This way at least one or two members of our group knows about whatever we're doing really well. In the past it's worked out for the better when our fundraisers incorporate people in our groups strengths, and things that a lot of us have had somewhat experience with before.
Objectifs
- J'ai besoin d'un financement pour lancer mon projet
- I would like to finish the "application process," to become a venture team.
