Three teens create conscious spoken word open mic for youth in their community.

Ma'at Harmony is a group of teens who came together to create a spoken word open mic called Conversing With the Mic. The group of friends Caprice, Tyeeda, and K.J. all met at SCPA a year ago. The three friends are very conscious and aware teens who strives to make a impact in their community.
Conversing With the Mic is a monthly Open Mic held on the Final Friday of the month. Conversing With the Mic was designed to bring together people who love creativity, diversity, and wants to share their gifts.
Caprice Woods (Caziah) is the organizer and co-host of Conversing With the Mic. She is an active member of her community who has created public art and worked with young people. She is a poet and visual artist who believes the arts are healing. One she hopes to own a publishing company.
K.J.(Iuapo) is also co- hosts Conversing With the Mic and is a student at School for Creative and Performing Arts, he majors in Creative Writing. K.J. is a very intense and intellectual which often shows in his spoken word. He targets issues ranging from political to urban lifestyle. His future plans are to impact through his work as a journalist and spoken word artist.
Tyeeda Jones (Isis) is a drama and music major at School for Creative and Performing Arts. She is on the Conversing With the Mic team as a PR. Tyeeda is a young woman who is knowledgeable of her culture. She is a very expressive and creative person. Tyeeda wants to become an actress.
